Don't let the name fool you -- the Little Ski Hill is Big on Fun for the whole family! Located only three miles north of downtown McCall on Hwy. 55, the Payette Lakes Ski Club maintains the Little Ski Hill's T-Bar, over 30 miles of groomed cross-country trails, a biathlon range and a lighted ski hill on weekends.
The Little Ski Hill is also big on history. Originally developed as a wintertime diversion for off-season forestry workers in 1937, the Little Ski Hill has been operated as a non-profit by the Payette Lakes Ski Club ever since. It is the second oldest ski hill in the state, preceded only by Sun Valley.
Erin Pittenger Olympic Training Grounds
Step inside the lodge and the walls are filled with photographs of generations of skiers, some who trained here and became Olympians. In fact, Little Ski Hill is home to more than 7 Olympic athletes from the local McCall area! Shown here is outstanding young athlete Erin Pittenger at the 2002 Nordic Junior Olympics at Ponderosa Park (left), and as a forerunner (above) at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.
